( July 8, 2021-Radhames Liz threw darts during his six innings from the mound allowing two hits and a run while striking out five Bravos batters on the way to a Leones 1-9 victory last night. The second inning began with an Art Charles walk, which would turn into a 5-run rally for the Leones– giving them a lead that they would only add to throughout the game.

A team batting average of .400 propelled the Leones to victory last night as starting pitcher Liz did not allow the Bravos offense to gain traction– giving up a single run in the fourth, which avoiding a shutout. The big guy Charles ended the night with three walks– one of which started the five-run rally in the second.

After a Charles walk, both Sebastian Valle and Fernando Perez single on flyouts– loading the bases– as shortstop Jorge Florez steps to the plate, driving to left field, advancing Perez to second, and knocking Charles and Valle home. With 2-outs on the board, Ibara singles on a fly ball to the third baseman as Obeso and Flores score. The black panther Yadir Drake triples on a long ball to center field, batting in Ibara to end the inning and bringing the score to 0-5 leones.

The fourth saw both Obeso and Florez cross the plate, and in the eighth, Lopez and Obeso crossed home again for the game’s final run, making the score 1-9 Leones.

The kings of the jungle will travel to Campeche to face the Pirates in a weekend series that will be four games at the Nelson Barrera Romellón Stadium, starting this Friday at 8:00 pm with a duel between Rolando Valdez and Romario Gil. The games can be followed live on, La Comadre 98.5 and SIPSE TV.
