Mérida, Yuc. (elgordogringo.com.mx) 22nd July 2021.- Under a 2019 agreement between the MLB and LMB, players can transfer between the two leagues in the offseason, but its typical that the transfer contains the clause of ¨derechos de Retorno,¨ meaning that if the MLB team does not utilize a prospect– the LMB has the right to return the player to the originating organization.

The 21-year-old outfielder was the first player from the Leones organization to sign with an MLB team– the San Fransisco Giants. They failed to assign him to a minor league team roster, so Adolfo’s rights return to the Leones organization in time to finish the 2021 season. Before being signed by the giants, Adolfo was trained for two years at the Academia de Beisbol del Pacífico— one of Mexico’s elite baseball academies– and while playing in the Giants rookie league system had an on-base percentage of .349.
