After losing game two in a doubleheader the day before, the Leones took an early first-inning lead and, thanks to great pitching from the mound, kept driving in runs ending the game with a 7-2 victory.

Starting pitcher, Rolando Valdez kept the Guerreros de Oaxaca to two runs during his five innings at the mound while relievers Carlos Ramírez, David Gutierrez, and Jonás Garibay kept the Guerreros de Oaxaca from crossing the plate. Hitting started early for the leones with a homer from Luis ¨Pepon¨ Juarez– who appears to have rebounded from his early-season slump– driving in Alex Liddi giving the Leones an early 2-0 lead.

The fourth inning saw the catcher Humberto Sosa launch one over the left-field wall for a solo home run, and the sixth inning saw a Sosa again score along with Alan López, and Jorge Flores bringing the score to 6-2 when in the ninth, Flores crossed the plate on a fielders choice.

The South Zone Champions will now travel to Veracruz to face Águila in the weekend’s series starting tomorrow, with the opening duel scheduled for this Friday, Jake Thompson. The game can be seen on , SIPSE TV, and La Comadre 98.5.
