The leones failed to take the lead at any point in the game; in fact, the final score makes it appear closer than it was. The Leones was scoreless till a sacrifice fly from Art Charles saw the first leones runner cross the plate in the last eleven innings of the series.

The eighth saw Luis ¨Pepon¨Juarez step to the plate and split the fielders for a single, driving in Flores and Lopez. Later in the eighth, Obeso stepped to the plate, driving in ¨Pepon¨Juarez, bringing the game to 9-3 Oaxaca.
