Merida, Yuc. (elgordogringo.com.mx) June 25, 2021.-A move that is sure to excite many fans– including me–, the leones decided to strengthen their relief pitching rotation by signing a former fourth-round pick who played 25 games for the Giants between the 2015 and 2016 seasons earning a career ERA of 4.23.

The Kentucky native landed in Merida earlier today and is expected to be activated this weekend as the Leones take on Puebla, looking to advance to second inthe southern division— a spot currently held by Puebla. Broadway was signed from the West Virginia Power of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, where he has had an ERA of 1.42 through ten games.

Broadway came out of retirement to play for the West Virginia Power, so it will be interesting to see if he sticks with the Leones next season, but It’s great to see a reliever of Broadways caliber enter the rotation. Hopefully, this will give fans some confidence in a rotation that has been part of why the team has been inconsistent this season.
