This weekend will see the debut episode of the Leones Den– an end-of-home series wrap-up that I will do with my wife– where we will discuss key plays, highlights, and just stuff at the games we went to in the series stood out. The next home series is this weekend as the Leones take on the Tigres de Quintinaroo. We actually went to the last pre-season series matchup between them, and they have an absolute monster in center fielder Granden Goetzman.

Lets look at the standing

It doesn’t look like it will be much of a matchup; in the standings, we currently have a diff of +20 while the 6th place Tigres have a -6 differential– meaning that they have allowed six more runs than they have scored this season– So I’m not expecting a close series. Still, it’s baseball, and anything could happen. We will attend the first two games of the series and will have to watch the third on TV as it’s not easy, with a kid, to attend all home games– but we should have enough to talk about on our podcast!

Series Predictions

Every single game I have been to, the first baseman, Art Charles, has made an error in the first three innings, so I will take any bet that this remains the case. However, although he is consistently good for an early error– he also is a source for some late-game hitting that has seen a homer, a double, and his bat has accounted for 9 runs this season between RBIs and Runs scored.

The Italian Alex Liddi was the month of Mays MVP, so I expect him to be a source of some runs and RBIs in the series. He has knocked two out of the park so far, so I would look for a homer in this series from Liddi.

I hope we get to see catcher Sebastian Valle back in the lineup this series. The Leones missed Valles bat in their only loss of the season so far.

I expect a Leones series sweep with a differential of +7, maybe we cans start a sports book!
