After the first series of the season was rained out for the Leones, this series was the first real chance we got to see the Leones take the field– outside of pre-season which they dominated– since their divisional victory in 2019.

We saw some additions in the offseason, namely some former pitchers that spent time in the majors who filled out the starting line up– like Liz in game two throwing a 98 MPH heater across the plate– and maybe most notably a bonified two way player in Yadir Drake who accounted for 6 runs, 1 Homerun, and 3 RBIs through his first 4 games with the Leones.

New faces didn’t just dominate the series, and we also saw Liddi and Valle smash some out of the park combining 7 runs, 3 homers, and 7 RBIs in this opening series. We remained undefeated in the division with a differential of +15.
